08.00 Plymouth - Crewe.

Engine, BCK, TK (Glasgow), BTK, CK, RC, TO, TK, BTK (Liverpool)BCK, TK, BCK (Kingswear - Manchester).

All GW stock except the diner which alternated daily LMS/GWR

 

11.50 Swansea - Manchester

Engine, BTK, CK, TK (Cardiff - Manchester) BTK, TK, CK, BTK(Swansea - Manchester)

All GWR Stock

 

16.40 Cardiff - Liverpool

Engine, BG (Trowbridge - Crewe), BCK, RC (Plymouth - Manchester), TK, TK,(Penzance - Plymouth), BTK, CK, TK, BTK (Penzance - Manchester),BG (Penzance - Liverpool), BTK, TK, CK, BTK (Cardiff - Liverpool).

GWR stock except for Plymouth - Manchester vehicles which alternated daily and the four-coach Cardiff section which was LMS. Latter joined the train at Pontypool Road). The train originated in Penzance at 10.05.

 

09.10 Liverpool - Plymouth.

Engine, BTK, TK, TO, RC, CK, BTK (Liverpool - Plymouth), TK, TK, CK, BTK (Liverpool - Paignton),

All GWR stock except RC which alternated.

 

09.25 Manchester - Swansea

Engine, BTK, TK, CK, TK, BTK (Manchester - Swansea), TK, CK, BTK, BG (Manchester - Cardiff), TK, BCK (Birkenhead - Cardiff)

All GWR stock except for the Cardiff BG which was LMS.

 

10.05 Penzance - L'pool Engine, Van, BCK (GW/LM) Dining (GW/LM), BSX, CK, SK, BSK, Full Bk, BSK (LM) SK (LM) CK (LM) BSK (LM)

Rod, 

Do you know which engines went on the front? The rake make up really appeals...so stop teasing and dish up the engines!! Or all these B5's and 8f's?

Essentially 80%+ Castles, with the odd Hall County, Brit and Royal Scot / Jubilee making up the numbers

Or put another way, of the six express trains in the model timetable (at least) four should be hauled by a Castle,

Other Class A trains could be Hall, County, Grange, Brit, Jubilee, Royal Scot or Partiot.

Class B services (Cardiff - Salop, & Hereford - Cardiff passenger) would be ex GW 2 Cyl locos (Hall, Grange, Mogul)
